The Fragrance of Silence

The Fragrance of Silence

By Kamran Chowdhury

Through the silent heart of the deepest night,

A sliver of smile breaks into the light.

In the dense woods of stillness, quiet and profound,

Heaps of sweet fragrance scatter all around.

Just as ‘Lubna‘ means a scent from the wild,

In her every grace, that soul is compiled.

Like a fountain’s flow, her words ever stream,

Quenching the desert of hearts like a dream.

With colors of a butterfly’s wings in her wake,

Like a humming bee, she paints dreams for her sake.

Yet in the corner of her eyes, clouds begin to loom,

Woven in a lonely shadow of melancholy gloom.

She hides the salty sting of pain deep within her breast,

Drowning in the tides of work, seeking happy rest.

Like a restless river, she breaks every shore,

Hidden sighs remain unsaid, secrets held in store.

When weary hours pass, pulled by the North Star’s gleam,

A secret thirst awakens in her spirit’s restless stream.

Her waiting is endless—will someone ever arrive?

To love her with a soul that makes the heart survive?

Today, she yearns for a touch, fragrant and divine,

Where pure emotions dwell, and eternal love shall shine.

Wild waves crash upon the sands of memory’s shore,

A restless longing for a peaceful shade she does outpour.

Amidst the crowd of sorrows, she spreads a nectar bright,

Feeding hungry souls with a subtle, pure delight.

On this deep path of silence, she burns like a flame,

The girl named Lubna walks alone, true to her name.

Across the heart, the echoes of her return softly play,

While through the scented forest, a lonely tune finds its way.

In that intense waiting, all fragrances turn pale and gray,

Lubna only longs to be the crown of someone’s love today.
